Um, yeah. 45 minutes LATER!! I ended up having to completely disassemble the dang thing just to get the cover pieces completely off.
Backrest off. Seatbelts and all straps removed. What a PAIN!! But it is clean now and reassembled correctly and back in the car and it better stay clean because I do not want to do that again.

Ha, ha. I can TOTALLY imagine! At FIRST I thought you were going to say it SHRUNK and you couldn't get it back on! Enjoy the cleanliness!
I know what you mean. I have to admit sometimes i just throw away whatever it is that is too much of a pain to clean but of course a car seat is too expensive to just throw away. But since Ben refuses to poop in the toilet this happens more and more.
Carseats can get soooooooo gross. Kudos to you for having the courage to go forth and conquer! I have to admit, I looked at that carseat "skeleton" and I think my fear would have been not being able to get it back together correctly. My child might have been sitting in a plastic carseat with a blanket covering it. J/K...really.
I think cleaning those is the worst.
