Sean had been the one merging onto the freeway and the mini-van totally side-swiped him full speed. Unfortunately, since the responding officer didn't witness the accident and had to site someone, Sean was the "lucky winner". He also said, though, that Sean and the other guy's stories didn't quite match up, but Sean's matched the vehicle damage. So we fought the charges and..... All charges dropped!! Wahoo!! We were very, very excited. Now we just have to try and work with the insurance company about our deductible because, of course, they just went by the fact that Sean was sited and no other evidence. Argh!![By the way, I was all ready with my defense evidence for the judge: The other guy said he tried to stop but couldn't, but all the damage is going toward our vehicle, pushing everything out. If he had really been breaking, I think the damage would have been more in the rear of our vehicle and also being pushed in since Sean's acceleration would be going against the other guy's breaking... Does that make sense?]
Funny side story: Ethan and I met Sean at the courthouse, but I only had a dime for the parking meter. We went inside, through security and upstairs to meet Sean. Well, Sean didn't have any change either, so we gave him the pictures we had printed up and then left to make change and fill our meters. When we got back to the courthouse, we had to go through security again and while I loaded our bag on one of the bigger trays, Ethan grabbed a smaller change tray and put his fruit snack on it to go through the machine!! It was so, so funny!! Even the security guards were laughing! :)
