1. Julie & Julia

Stars: 3
Rentability: Worth a look!
Overall Review: This was probably a one-time watch for me, but still worth it. Amy Adams and Meryl Streep both do a great job. Plus, I was able to relate to the blogging aspect of it. ;)
2. Everybody's Fine

Stars: 1 1/2
Rentability: Don't waste your time
Overall Review: This was so not what I thought it was going to be. Pretty depressing and the previews made it look like there would be more comedy in it. I had the same disappointment with 'The Family Stone'.
3. Monsters vs. Aliens

Stars: 3
Rentability: Definitely if you have kids!
Overall Review: We originally rented this for Ethan, but I think all of us ended up watching it and were laughing almost the whole time! Ethan actually just requested this movie last time we were at a Redbox.
4. 500 Days of Summer

Stars: 2
Rentability: Only if you like artsy films and want to be disappointed.
Overall Review: I SO wanted to like this movie. I am a fan of Zoey Deschanel and thought an artsy film would be refreshing. It was not. I ended up just feeling sorry for the guy most of the time and really not liking Zoey's character. She just messed with his emotions and vulnerability so much. Oh, and her name is Summer. Did everyone else know this?! The whole premise is the year and a half "relationship" that the guy has with Summer. Whatev.
5. What Happens in Vegas

Stars: 3
Rentability: YES!
Overall Review: Hilarious!! My co-worker was actually shocked that I hadn't seen this movie and was telling me how funny it was. I went home to my parents house to tell my mom and sisters that we should rent it that night... imagine how silly I felt when they inform me that not only had they seen it, but Christine owns it!! It did not disappoint. :)

Man, that UFO cloud is HILARIOUS!!! Utah is so beautiful. I have forgotten. Ok, Vegas. Was that R or did I just think it would be "bad" because I never saw it, but now I want to. Totally feel the same about the Summer movie. Oh it just reminded me of horrible relationships I held onto for way too long. What else. Everybody's Fine should be called Everybody's NOT fine! I HATED that movie. They made it like it was this FEEL GOOD family film and it was the complete opposite. I was so mad. I would give the Family Stone another try. Amy hated it the first time too. Greg and I LOVE that movie. I watch it atleast once a year. But I think it IS hilarious. Probly because it reminds me so much of when I met Greg's family. I did NOT fit in and nobody liked me.
I liked 500 Days of Summer the first time I saw it, but then I made Steve watch it with me again and neither of us liked it. She strings him along big time.
We like Monsters Vs. Aliens too, so cute.
We both also hated Everybody's Fine. I like what Megan wrote...totally stupid movie. I just wanted to cry for poor Robert DeNiro the entire time. And why are they smiling on the cover...no one ever smiles in that whole movie!!!
Still haven't seen Julie and Julia but I want to.
Definitely agree with all of your movie reviews. 500 days of Summer could have been so much better if she wasn't such a jerk to him for NO REASON! John and I both said afterwards how sorry we kept feeling for him the whole time.
I really wanted to like Zooey's character in 500 days of Summer, but she was a total...jerk. Loved him though, always have had a crush on that guy and did you know the girl he ended up with's name was Autumn? I love Zooey's hair in that movie by the way.
I feel the same on all the movies, except I guess I wasn't in the best of mood for the monsters vs aliens. HATED 500 Days of Summer and I couldn't believe that you hadn't seen What happens in Vegas, since mom and I quoted it like ALL of last summer. "You know why!!!!!" HAHAHA the best
