Surrounded by Gray

If I could sum up the weather for the last MONTH, I would use one word: GRAY! We are going on about a month solid of gray. Gray skies. Gray clouds. Even the rain just looks gray. Granted, we have had some little peaks of blue skies and sun, but even those days had scattered showers. We lucked out for Memorial Day, and got this little glimpse of summer:Of course, I hope we have far less clouds in our summer sky! Despite a gray morning, we had a rather delightful Memorial Day. After taking it easy in the a.m. and getting the house picked up, we met up with friends from the ward at Klineline park for a last-minute picnic lunch. Ethan had fun playing on the playground and apparently it was even warm enough to swim a little because there were quite a few kids in the water. Ethan joined them for a while. The only tragedy of the day was when Ethan stepped backwards and fell off the bench of one of the picnic tables - smack onto his bare back and head. He took quite the spill, but no blood, thank goodness!! {I was so afraid when he hit his head that it had split and we would have to go to the hospital - a repeat of last year when he had to get the staples.} Luckily, other than getting the wind knocked out of him and a few scrapes on his back he was ok. Just as we were getting ready to leave, we got invited to fondue night with a couple other families in our ward. We had 4 couples there and 12 kids! It was a lot of fun hanging out with new people and it was my first time having fondue. Yum! I had always thought you probably couldn't fill up with fondue - all those little bites - but we were all stuffed!

So anyway, it's JUNE now. Bring on the sun!!!

I hear you about the sun. I have heard that there is a fondue restaurant in Portland that is supposed to be really good.

We have sun! And I have a burnt neck! I thought I put sunscreen on, but I guess I missed the neck.
Of course it did snow two weeks ago, what the heck! That was gross.
