Scenes from the Weekend: April 29th-May 1st

Friday and Saturday were pretty low-key around here. Sean had an overnight camp-out with the scouts and all-day Saturday camp-o-ree, which meant he wasn't home until after 10pm - just me and Ethan all day Friday and Saturday.

Friday night Ethan and I rented movies, but I was too tired to watch mine so I watched it off and on Saturday afternoon. Better than I thought it would be, but I figured out the "twist" pretty early. That may be, though, because my mom hinted there was a "twist" so I was already trying to figure it out just after the movie started.

Sunday 5/1
Our backyard was sort of "volunteered" for a last-minute get-together with a couple other families from the ward. Pretty funny that we have the smallest family and therefore smallest house, but the biggest backyard! Not to mention the convenience of the elementary school just a fence-hop away. We took advantage of the fire pit we dug at the end of last summer and had hobo foil dinners and a yummy dutch oven cake. While everything was cooking, I made a batch of Brazillian Lemonade (courtesy of Our Best Bites) for the adults. It was such a nice day and a great glimpse into the summer - amazing what sunshine and the smell of charcoal will do for my longing for summer!
PS: You gotta love Ethan's stick choice for roasting marshmallows!
