Conversation between Ethan and Sean this morning....
Sean: Ethan, do you want waffles for breakfast?
Ethan: No.
Sean: Do you want cereal for breakfast?
Ethan: No.
Sean: Do you want a banana for breakfast?
Ethan: No.
Sean: Well, what do you want for breakfast?
Ethan: Ice cream!
Sean: No, you can't have ice cream for breakfast!
Ethan: How come, daddy?
Sean: Because ice cream's not for breakfast.
Ethan: How come, daddy?
Sean: Because it's not for breakfast.
[[pause by Ethan...]]
Ethan: How come, Izzy? (my little sister's over today)
A little while later...
Sean: Ethan, so what do you want for breakfast?
Ethan: Umm, how about... flowers?! (looking at the flowers on our dining room table)
Sean: No.
Ethan: How about... fishies?! (looking at the stained glass fish thing in our window)
Sean: No.
Ethan: How come?
And for the record, he had cereal and apple juice for breakfast.

That is so funny! The part where he looks around the room reminds me of when we were in Utah with Olivia. She did that too. One night at dinner she attempted to strike up conversation like the 'big people' at the table. "Some people...are dirty!" That made us (inwardly) laugh and we let her go on with her "some people..." lines. She, too, looked around the room for ideas. "Some people...pepper!"
Ethan is just the cutest thing. He sure was active today!
You can be glad that all he said to you during Sacrament meeting last week was "wake up Mom." Sarah told me that during the passing of their(?) sacrament a little girl held up the sacrament cup as in a toast and said "To Jesus!" :) :) :)
