Father's Day - 2010

So, uh, yeah. This post is just a bit overdue, but I still wanted to get it on here. Besides, I was out of town for over a week. And yes, I will be using that excuse until I also catch up on a few other June posts!

Anyway, poor Sean had been sick before Father's day, got a little better and then totally relapsed by late Saturday night. And he relapsed hard! Poor guy was up half the night hacking and coughing. I made him his traditional Father's day french toast breakfast - he got up to eat and then went straight back to bed. Ethan and I went to church by ourselves and then later gave Sean his gift...Picture frame of "the boys" with my favorite picture of them from Seattle, He-Man DVD {if you'll recall from my Kickin' It Old School post, this is not the original but a pretty decent remake from '04} and a peanut caramel apple from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

From the beginning, Sean has been a wonderful father to Ethan. He always seem to be able to keep his cool, just as I am really starting to lose mine! He is loving, kind and patient to our little Ethan and I love him for that. I am also so grateful for all the work he does so that I can be home with Ethan. Below are a couple of my favorite father/son pictures.

This is still one of my all-time faves! I love their smiles and the drool stain on Sean's shirt!!

This was Father's Day 2008 - just after Ethan turned 1.

And this was last summer... a backyard bug moment. :)

And finally, I have to give a little shout-out to the other Dads in my life... My own wonderful Daddy and my Father-in-law. Both are great men and I feel so blessed to have them in my life. I owe a lot to my Dad. He definitely was a major influence behind my sense of humor and learning the great art of sarcasm! :) He also taught me the importance of being a recycling nazi, organization, simplicity and couponing for a good deal. I love my Dad for all that he has done for me and my family including all of that hard work he did [and still does] that allowed my mom to stay home to raise me and my sisters. Having my own family now, I know what a sacrifice that is.

Grandpa Greg and his first grandson!

He he he! I love this picture too.

Loren, my father-in-law, is pretty much the best FIL I could've asked for. He is a wonderful man and gave Sean such a good example of how to be a good father. I'm thankful for all the love he has for our little family and for being such a good Papa!

Papa with grandchild #3/grandson #2!

And there you have it... Father's Day 2010.
[Oh, and I totally started this post on June 23rd... that's gotta count for something, right?!]

I deleted the last post because there was a typo and I didn't know how to fix it. Any way, I thought your organization skills came from your mom. Isn't she really organized too?

Well that's one skill I hope to have one day.
